What is lung health?
Lung disease can affect any age and health status. The earlier you treat any other symptoms, the better the outcomes.
Some lung conditions include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sarcoidosis, sleep apnoea, cystic fibrosis (CF), lung cancer and newer ones caused by Covid-19.
Asthma usually starts early in childhood; individuals with eczema also have asthma, hay fever, and food allergies are the primary triggers for an asthma attack.
Symptoms are triggered by environmental factors such as seasonal pollen, mould, dust mites, and dog and cat dander. Food allergens, such as cow’s milk, eggs, gluten, soy, nuts and shellfish, can also trigger them.
Signs and symptoms
If you recognise any of the above symptoms, please contact your GP.
Conventional Treatment
Topical applications of steroid creams such as hydrocortisone to reduce and calm local or generalised itching. Different inhalers relieve and prevent asthma symptoms. In addition, oral steroids are prescribed to slow down the immune system and anti-histamine pills.
How we can help you to restore your Lungs health
Our Integrative Functional Approach can help you on:
Asthma, eczema and hay fever (allergic rhinitis) are auto-immune conditions. In some cases, they are related to increased intestinal permeability, known as a leaky gut and an over-active immune system. They are also associated with a diet high in processed foods and sugar, antibiotic treatments, and some allergens found in gluten and dairy products.
The treatment aims to reduce inflammation, restore gut health and calm the immune system. Some interventions include an elimination diet, probiotics, curcumin, vitamin D and anti-inflammatory foods. Staying active and stopping smoking will help to keep the lungs healthy.
Changes in lifestyle, such as adequate sleep, decreasing stress levels and adding physical activity, tends to improve your lung health.
Together we will create a bespoke programme based on clinical experience. We will design a personalised plan according to your symptoms and guide you step by step to improve your lungs’ health.
